Service Terms

Introduction

These Service Terms explain how services provided by Irah Goodwin Web Development work, including monthly website plans, one-off website builds, hosting and care, additional development, third-party services, billing, support, and website ownership.

The exact scope, price, and requirements of a project may also be confirmed separately in writing before work begins. Where a written quote or agreement includes terms specific to a project, those project-specific terms will apply alongside these Service Terms.

Services

Services may include monthly website plans, one-off website builds, website hosting and maintenance, additional development, Google Ads management, logo design, and other agreed digital services.

Not every service is included within every website package. The services included will be confirmed before work begins and may also be shown on the Website Packages page.

Pricing and VAT

Prices shown on the website are starting prices and may vary depending on the scope and requirements of the work.

Monthly website plans are currently offered from £79 per month, Hosting & Care from £12.99 per month billed annually, and one-off website builds from £499, unless otherwise agreed.

I am not currently VAT registered, so VAT is not charged on my services. If this changes in the future, clients will be informed before VAT is applied to future charges.

Quotes and Project Scope

Where a quote is provided, it will be based on the requirements discussed at the time. Significant changes to the agreed scope, additional pages, new features, integrations, or other additional work may result in an additional charge.

Any additional costs will be discussed and agreed before the additional work is carried out.

Monthly Website Plans

Monthly website plans provide a website together with ongoing hosting, technical maintenance, support, and an allowance for minor website updates.

Monthly billing begins once the website has been completed, approved by the client, and made live, unless another billing arrangement has been agreed in writing.

Monthly Plan Minimum Term

Monthly website plans are provided on a 12-month minimum term.

Monthly Plan Website Updates

The monthly website plan includes up to 1 hour of minor website updates per calendar month, equivalent to up to 12 hours per year.

Minor updates may include updating text, replacing images, changing opening hours, updating contact details, adding testimonials, or making similar small amendments to existing content.

Unused monthly update time does not roll over into future months unless otherwise agreed in writing.

One-Off Website Builds

One-off website builds are priced according to the agreed project scope. The price, payment arrangements, and included functionality will be confirmed before work begins.

One-off website builds normally require a 50% deposit before work begins. The remaining 50% is due once the website has been approved and is ready to launch. The website will be made live once the final balance has been received, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Unless otherwise agreed, one-off website builds include 30 days of post-launch support for minor fixes or corrections relating to the agreed website build.

New functionality, additional pages, design changes, ongoing content updates, or other work requested after launch may be quoted and charged separately.

Hosting and ongoing maintenance are not automatically included with a one-off website build unless this has been agreed as part of the project.

Hosting & Care

Hosting & Care is available for suitable websites and is billed annually for a 12-month period.

The service may include website hosting, SSL, backups, technical maintenance, monitoring, and general technical support as agreed.

Content changes, new pages, design changes, new functionality, and other development work are not included within the standard Hosting & Care service and will be charged separately unless otherwise agreed.

Websites that I did not originally build may need to be reviewed before I can confirm that I am able to host or maintain them.

Additional Development and Support

Work outside the included package allowance may be quoted separately and charged at an agreed hourly rate or fixed project price.

This may include additional pages, larger design changes, integrations, new features, custom functionality, extensive content changes, or other development work.

Additional work will normally be agreed before work begins. Payment may be required in advance depending on the size and nature of the work.

Google Ads Management

Google Ads setup and management may be provided as an additional service where agreed.

Google advertising spend is separate from my management charges and is normally paid directly by the client to Google.

While campaigns will be managed with the aim of improving relevant traffic and enquiries, no specific number of leads, enquiries, sales, rankings, or financial return can be guaranteed.

Logo Design

Logo design may be offered as an additional service through a trusted third-party designer.

The scope, price, revision allowance, and expected deliverables will be confirmed before logo design work begins.

Third-Party Services

Websites may rely on third-party services such as hosting providers, domain registrars, email delivery services, analytics tools, advertising platforms, software licences, or other external services.

These services may be subject to their own terms, prices, limits, availability, and changes which are outside my control.

Where a project requires a paid third-party service, upgrade, or licence, the cost will be discussed before it is incurred. The client may be asked to purchase the service directly or reimburse an agreed cost.

Where practical, third-party accounts should be held in the client's name. I can assist with setup and connection to the website where required.

Domain Names

Clients are responsible for purchasing and maintaining ownership of their domain name unless another arrangement has been agreed in writing.

I can assist with DNS configuration and connecting the domain to the website where required.

Business Email

Business email accounts and email hosting are not included as standard unless explicitly agreed. I can assist with email setup or configuration where required, and any third-party email service costs will be confirmed separately.

Website Ownership

For monthly website plans, ownership of the completed website passes to the client once the initial 12-month minimum term has been completed and all payments due have been received.

For one-off website builds, ownership of the completed website passes to the client once all agreed project payments have been received.

Third-party licences, subscriptions, services, stock assets, or other externally licensed materials remain subject to their own licensing terms and may need to be transferred, replaced, renewed, or reconfigured if the website is moved.

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing the content, information, feedback, approvals, branding, images, and account access reasonably required to complete the agreed work.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that content they provide can lawfully be used on their website, including text, photographs, logos, trademarks, and other materials.

Website Content and Legal Information

I may provide standard website pages, cookie consent configuration, or template wording to support the technical setup of a website. This does not constitute legal advice.

Clients remain responsible for ensuring that their website content, privacy information, policies, business practices, and legal obligations are appropriate for their organisation.

Cancellations - Monthly Website Plans

Monthly website plans may be cancelled after the initial 12-month minimum term. At least 14 days' notice should be provided before the next billing date.

If a monthly website plan is cancelled before the initial 12-month term has been completed, the remaining balance for the agreed 12-month period will still be payable unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Until all payments due under the initial term have been received, ownership of the website will remain with Irah Goodwin Web Development and service or access may be suspended.

Hosting & Care Renewals

Hosting & Care is billed for a 12-month period. Renewal pricing and any material changes to the service will be communicated before a new annual period is charged.

Changes to These Terms

I may update these Service Terms from time to time to reflect changes to services, pricing structures, technology, or business operations. The latest version will always be available on this website.
